| (*)What is meant by “total days of convalescence post-surgery”, is the total amount of days you have to spend in Guatemala after the surgery, including the amount of days you spend in the hospital after surgery. For instance for Arthroplasty: after 5 days in the hospital, patient needs to remain in convalescence a total of 10 days in Guatemala. Suture points are usually taken out 10 days after surgery. If patient wants he can board a plane the day after suture points have been taken out, or he can prolong his vacation in Guatemala, for instance in Antigua where we can find affordable places for prolonging his convalescence. | |||
Prices include
- Fees of Orthopedic Surgeon, of Anesthesiologist and of Surgical assistant
- Cost of prosthesis or implants where applicable (FDA approved)
- Pre-Operation and post-operation (follow-up) consultations with Ortopedic Surgeon in Guatemala City
- Hospital stay/room and medication taken during hospitalization
Not included in pricelist:
- All pre-surgery tests in Guatemala, for clinical labtests, X-rays, Ekg, physical exam by cardiologist, all together count approximately $250.00. For MRI : $270.00. Prices of SPECT-CT can be forwarded upon request.
- All medication to be taken after leaving the hospital
- Unforeseen complications experienced by the patient, obliging him to extend his stay in the hospital
- Private assistant nurse during the patient´s convalescence (at the hospital, or if needed, at his hotel)
- 5% local bank transaction fee if you pay with credit cards and local tax (Value added Tax = 12%)
