Treatment

The surgical technique to cure GERD or Acid Reflux disease depends on the diagnosis, e.g. on the esophageal motility, as shown in the manometer.

Surgical procedures  are the following:

• Nissen type total fundoplication surgery
• Partial fundoplication surgery
• 380º Esophagus gastropexy: this is a surgical operation in which the stomach is sutured to the abdominal wall.

These surgeries can be performed through open surgery (conventional) or by laparoscopic surgery (mini-invasive), the latter one having many advantages over the former.
