Gastric Surgery
Gastric Reflux disease or GERD is a clinical disorder, whereby the gastric acid of the stomach comes up to the esophagus, producing mucosal damage to the esophagus. Depending on the diagnosis, surgical procedures to cure GERD are the following:
- Nissen type total fundoplication surgery
- Partial fundoplication surgery
- 380º Esophagus gastropexy: this is a surgical operation in which the stomach is sutured to the abdominal wall.
These surgeries can be performed through open surgery (conventional) or by laparoscopic surgery (mini-invasive), the latter one having more advantages.
